Scotia Women’s XtraProtect* benefits

Women’s cancer benefit

Get a benefit increase equal to 50% if you’re diagnosed with a covered women’s cancer.

Women’s cancer surgery benefit 

Get a benefit increase equal to 150% if you have surgery for a covered women’s cancer within six months of the diagnosis**.

Other cancer surgical benefit

Get a benefit increase equal to 100% if you have surgery for any other covered cancer** within six months of the diagnosis.

Scotia Women’s XtraProtect is an additional benefit available to eligible individuals who enrol in Scotia Enhanced Critical Illness Insurance.  Additional premiums apply. Scotia Women’s XtraProtect is subject to the terms and conditions set out in the rider for this coverage and the Scotia Enhanced Critical Illness Insurance Certificate, including the definition of Cancer in the certificate.

Women’s Cancer Surgical Benefit and Cancer Surgical Benefit: Surgery must be required within 6 months of diagnosis of a covered Cancer. These benefits increase the benefit amount payable under Scotia Enhanced Critical Illness insurance in connection with such Cancer diagnosis by 150% if surgery is required for ais a Women’s Cancer or by 100% if surgery is required within 6 months of diagnosis for any other covered Cancer.  This benefit is not available for any other Critical Illnesses covered by Scotia Enhanced Critical Illness.

The benefit is only paid for the first Insured Condition that occurs. Please refer to the sample Certificate of Insurance for information that defines Insured Conditions and the necessary survival period after diagnosis.
