Resolving Complaints

We are dedicated to ensuring that every effort is made to resolve your concerns about insurance products and services offered by Scotia Insurance. 

For all Canadian provinces and territories other than Quebec, “complaint” is an expression of dissatisfaction about your insurance product or the services provided in connection with your insurance product that persists after being considered and examined at the operational level capable of making a decision on the matter. It does not include a pure request for information. 

For clients residing in the Province of Quebec, “complaint” is an expression of dissatisfaction about the insurance product we offered, or the services provided in connection with the insurance product, communicated by a Scotia Insurance client and a final response is expected by the client. A final response is expected when the complainant’s communication explicitly or implicitly implies that action must be taken to address the complaint.
